Friday 11th March – Poetry Reading
Local poet and professor of psychology Stephen Payne presents his recently published collection, ‘Pattern Beyond Chance’. Venue to be confirmed. Tickets £5 each including a discount on book purchases.
Thursday 17th March – Crime & Cream Tea
Join us at the exclusive Holm House Hotel on Marine Parade for an afternoon with two leading crime writers, Clare Donoghue and Chris Ewan, who will be discussing their latest novels. Tickets £15 each including a cream tea plus a signed copy of one of the authors’ books. 2.30 to 4.30pm.
Saturday 23rd April – Shakespeare Saturday
To mark Shakespeare’s 400th birthday, we will have lots of special promotions, a Shakespearean quiz, and refreshments available all day. Do come and join the fun!
Late@GriffinBooks – Do you love bookshops but struggle to get to one during opening hours? Join us on the last Thursday of every month to browse the shelves at leisure over a glass of wine and a few nibbles until 9pm! The next Late@GriffinBooks is this Thursday 25th February – all welcome.
Novelist Julia Forster in conversation with Mel Griffin
Tickets are now available from us for an evening with debut author Julia Forster on Friday 26th February. Join Julia at Waterloo Tea, Stanwell Road in Penarth where she will be discussing her new novel ‘What A Way To Go’ with Mel Griffin.
Julia’s book, set in the late 1980s when the author herself was a teenager, is described as “a warm, wise and witty tale of one girl tackling the business of growing up while those around her try not to fall apart.” For more information about Julia and her work, visit www.julia-forster.com.
